Thought for the Week: Pessimism morbid

Morbid pessimism

They say the world will end in 2012, and that we should live each day as if it were the last. But why bother to do so if the world is about to end. It would be best to do as I said Raul Seixas "sit around and wait for death to come." Why think of enjoying life in a world like this, full of violence, poverty, wars, corruption, authoritarian governments, pollution, hunger, disease, prejudice, xenophobia, lack of freedom and among other things.
Maybe our world has already ended only we do not perceive and/or do not want to believe preferring the illusion that all is well since we can celebrate and selebrar the new iphone or ipod and all the "i's" and the consumer, deceiving and pretending to live and enjoy life with everything that capitalism can offer you in exchange for charging only its soul and its freedom.
